ANC Singapore brings together Carabinieri in congedo (no longer in active service), their families and friends who live in Singapore. We are the Singapore section of the Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri, and the first ANC section in Asia.
A section of a national association
The Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri (ANC) began in Milan in 1886 as a mutual-aid society for Carabinieri in congedo. Today it has sections across Italy and abroad. ANC Singapore is affiliated to the ANC in Rome and registered in Singapore as the Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri (Singapore).
A civilian community
We are a civilian, non-political association. We are not part of the Carabinieri and we have no operational, security or emergency role. What we do is simpler, and close to where the ANC began: we meet, we remember, and we look out for one another.
Dedicated to Vittorio Iacovacci
The section carries the name of Carabiniere Scelto Vittorio Iacovacci, Gold Medal for Military Valour, who died in 2021 near Goma, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, protecting the Italian Ambassador Luca Attanasio. We remember him every 22 February.
What we do
- We gather members, families and guests through the year.
- We mark the dates that matter to the Carabinieri, to Italy and to Singapore.
- We share Italian history and culture, and learn from Singapore.
- We help members settle in, and point them to the right door when they need it.
Who can join
Carabinieri in congedo living in Singapore join as Ordinary members, and their families as Family members. Anyone who shares our purposes can join as an Associate member: you do not need to be a Carabiniere or to be Italian. Annual fees start at SGD 65, and there is no entrance fee.
Would you like to know more? Write to us, and someone from the section will reply personally.
